5th July 2008 ~ Tangtse – Pangong Tso.

Woke up early next day with streams of sunrays sneaking into our room. I had a good time sitting by the window till the time everyone got ready. We were ready and out by 6.30am. Left Tangtse and had our first stop at the place we were last evening shooting reflections.

This time instead of reflections, a butterfly caught my attention, though it was not very beautiful sight.

We kept moving towards Pagal nala.

Sometimes life looks better upside down...

We encountered wildlife on the way… Marmoot was enjoying the morning sun.

Even yak were enjoying their morning breakfast..

Also this mother son duo..

It was a beautiful sunny morning. By 9.30 we were at Pagal Nala. There were few cars waiting for their turn. Army personnel were at work…

I couldn’t resist taking a few clicks of the gentleman at work. And he was good at it. Was wondering about his job, everyday putting stones on the way for people to pass through Pagal Nala, the gush of water washing those away in some time … and again the same cycle!

We kept moving and by noon we passed by the sign of “Welcome to model village Phobrang” and had our first glimpse of Pangong Tso.

We parked our car next to the water body and it was a beautiful view… everybody got out and started roaming around and clicking.

After a while we decided to have our lunch.. Stove, picnic chairs, vessel and ready to cook packets were out. We made our lunch and enjoyed it with the view out there. This was one of the memorable lunches of my life…

After lunch we were back to work… Soaking into nature, the basking sun and the gentle breeze… and in between clicking a few pictures. J

 Snow on distant mountain peaks

An exercise by the Army in the lake..

It is said – “Taare zameen par” but here there were clouds.. J

And I felt like singing..
Aaj main upar, aasamaan niche, aaj main aage, zamaanaa hai piche
tell me o khuda..ab main kya karu, chalu sidhi ke ulti chalu....

I just fell in love with these formations……

where time stands still...
and I get lost in eternity.

Pradeep in action, shooting birds flying over the lake..

For a while I stopped clicking and sat soaking the aura of the place… It was simply amazing.

Water was changing colour with the time…I saw all possible myriad of colours ranging from green to blue… Had never seen such peacock blue ever…

After a while I saw herd of goats coming from Phobrang…

In no time there were near us…
And passed by…

Nitin decided to go after them to get some close ups..

I found myself again engrossed in watching the constantly changing shadows of clouds on mountains.

The light was amazing as sun was going down and created crazy colours in the sky and lake water. It was one magical evening!

It was almost 7.30pm and we were still at the lake side enjoying the dusk with its fading light … and stars coming up… we already had got a one room accommodation for us. We were sitting outside looking at the stars and chatting up. One of the amazing experiences of my ladakh trip. I will never forget this evening.
