26th June 2008 ~ Pune - Bombay - Delhi
Finally, the morning of 26th June 2008 dawned. I caught the morning bus from Pune to Bombay as our train for Delhi was to leave in the afternoon. I woke up, got ready and boarded the 9 am bus for Bombay and thus began my Himalayan journey. It was hard to believe that I was leaving for the Himalayas - and Ladakh. I tried to catch up on some sleep in the bus but was too excited. The road to Mumbai seemed shorter than usual as I switched between the movie in the bus and my world of thoughts. Took a taxi for Sejal's place had a quick lunch with her and left for Mumbai Central to catch our train to Delhi. We were one hell of a sight – the two of us walking into the railway station with the kinda luggage we had... rucksacks on our backs, camera bags in front and tripod bags in hand and we were yet to add sleeping bags in Delhi. People looked on in amusement and the rest were gave us appreciative looks. The train was on time and as with most train journeys; we spent this one, too, in observing people in our compartment and listening to their conversations.
